The eyevis company for projection and large image technology is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of large screen systems for control rooms, information, simulation, communication and virtual reality.
The medium-sized company headquartered in Reutlingen was founded in 1995 and today has 14 sites worldwide. The company, which employs more than 100 people, is one of the few manufacturers and service providers, who deliver everything from a single source. In addition to large-screen projection devices, eyevis offers peripheral products for video, data and communication technology, software applications and accessories for its customers.
The imaging systems are used particularly in areas such as control rooms, where it is indispensable to be able to rely on a fail-safe display medium due to continuous use. The company’s product portfolio includes large screen systems designed for continuous operations or adverse lighting conditions, as well as full HD monitors, graphic controllers for controlling the screens and flexible rear projection display modules in a wide variety of forms.
After an analysis phase, Kloepfel Consulting was commissioned to realize optimization potentials amounting to at least 500,000 euros. The processed volume covered a procurement volume of approx. 20 million euros. The main topics during the six-month project phase included boards, cables, metal processing and logistics.
Together with eyevis, the consulting team successfully implemented new strategic suppliers as long-term partners. In order to equip eyevis for further growth, the purchasing structures were redefined. Kloepfel Consulting took up all organizational and procurement processes and prepared decision templates for a future- and growth-oriented purchasing structure, such as changes in the existing material group structure. In addition, the consultant presented the important steps for the successful implementation of changed processes in the organizational structure within an all-day value stream analysis workshop.
Overall, significant successes were achieved in the project result. At the end of the project, savings above the target were achieved. Through the transfer of purchasing know-how, improved data transparency and insights into the reorganization of purchasing, eyevis is sustainably positioned to identify and consistently implement purchasing potentials.
