UFO trade union votes
During the summer holidays passengers of the airlines Eurowings and Germanwings have to expect strikes. The trade union Unabhängige Flugbegleiter Organisation (UFO) will hold a vote on industrial action this week. The company announced this last Thursday. The union members shall also decide about the strikes at Lufthansa.
Daniel Flohr, collective bargaining chairman and UFO chairman, comments: “Lufthansa has deliberately escalated the collective bargaining conflict with employees. This front could very easily be eliminated by Lufthansa and thus save us flight attendants, passengers and shareholders an additional worry this summer”.
UFO declared that the first ballot on possible strikes at Eurowings and Germanwings will last two weeks and will start next week. As soon as the strike ballots are completed, UFO will announce the first concrete strike dates. These are scheduled for July.
