Worldwide almost 400,000 cars affected

The sports car manufacturer Porsche has recalled around 337,000 cars worldwide. Approximately 26,500 are affected in Germany. The Cayenne and Panamera models have to be returned to workshops because of a possible risk of rolling away. This was announced by a spokesman on Tuesday.

On Monday, initially only 100,000 sports cars were recalled in the USA. The reason for this is a possible defect in the connection between selector lever and gearbox. Porsche informed that this could result in the selected gear not being engaged correctly. If you insert “P” for “Parking”, the car could still roll away with the parking brake not applied.

Now a plastic part shall be exchanged in the workshops in the connection between selector lever and gearbox. The cars can still be driven, but you should always pay attention to the additional activation of the parking brake when parking. The recall affects all Cayenne models built between 2002 and 2010 and Panamera models built between 2008 and 2016.
