Lego invests in new markets

Sales increased in the second half of the year
After financial problems and redundancies the toy company Lego can now look to a bright future again. The company is planning a new corporate strategy. An expansion to Asia and digital building worlds are planned.
At the beginning of the year “Lego” still had to remain cautious, but in the second half of 2019 the company was allowed to make new investments. The result: Compared to 2018, sales rose by four percent to around two billion euros.
Niels B. Christiansen, CEO of Lego: “We are investing in new stores in parts of the world where our brand is not yet so well known.” By the end of the year, a total of 140 stores will be opened in 35 Chinese cities alone.
