Inventories are controlled with artificial intelligence

The fashion chain Adler Modemärkte AG wants to optimize its supply chain in the future by relying on Aifora’s SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) solutions. The solution enables real-time monitoring of inventories and analysis functions, i.e. it provides information about which specific goods have to be ordered at which time in a specific store. In this way, shortages or overstocking can be avoided. The fashion company could thus make the best possible use of the available sales and store storage space.

In addition, the degree of automation in the supply chain also reduces the amount of work involved and thus the running costs. Furthermore, the solution provides daily forecasts and efficient exception management.

Adler laid the foundation for efficient inventory management based on artificial intelligence in the branches already five years ago. At that time, RFID was introduced. Two months ago, the fashion company also introduced the replenishment solution. This includes basic stocking, replenishment and automatic ordering. In the case of long lead times, the module also shows incipient shortages and overstocking. In addition to the supply chain, the allocation process will also be optimised. The module determines the initial order quantities and the subsequent allocation. The algorithm takes into account the available sales and store storage areas, customer card data, weather and event data as well as the forecast performance of the articles.
