Reduction of health insurance costs of employees

The US online giant Amazon wants to build its own clinic for its employees in the company’s headquarters in Seattle. This was revealed by two insiders to the US channel CNBC. In this way Amazon wants to reduce the cost of employee health care, as the healthcare system in the US is considered as one of the most overpriced and inefficient in the world. Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos thinks that the health insurance of employees is too expensive and is already planning the development of primary health care centers, according to the insiders.

Amazon CEO Bezos has been looking for a solution to reduce employee health care costs in cooperation with the major banks JPMorgan Chase and Berkshire Hathaway, by star investor Warren Buffet since the beginning of the year.

More than 45,000 people work at the Seattle headquarters. According to the media, this year there was a wave of redundancies and a hiring freeze, for the first time since 2009. Amazon continues to be an attractive employer, offering its employees an extravagant job. On the roof of the headquarters there are even barbecue areas and dog parks. Furthermore, huge greenhouses are now being built so that employees can work outdoors without regarding the weather.

However, Amazon’s own clinic plans have not yet been confirmed.
