Trump lifts ban against Huawei

An agreement was found between US President Trump and China’s head of state Xi Jinping. During the talks at the G20 summit in Japan, US sanctions against China were relaxed. A “ceasefire” and new negotiations were agreed. “We had a fantastic meeting,” commented US President Donald Trump.

This has consequences for numerous US companies such as Facebook, WhatsApp and hardware manufacturers. Most recently, US companies were not allowed to do business with companies such as Huawei, as it had been blacklisted.

Now the ban was surprisingly released. The new smartphones of the manufacturer and the subsidiary Honor can install WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram again. The Android operating system also remains available on the devices. This benefits millions of users worldwide, because Huawei is one of the largest smartphone manufacturers along with Samsung and Apple.

Statement

A few days ago Huawei reported on the most important developments regarding sanctions. A dedicated website was set up to explain: “All Huawei smartphones and tablets that have already been sold, are currently being sold or are in stock can be used with apps like Facebook, WhatsApp or Instagram and downloads can be made as normal.
